Consciousness, subconscious, unconscious. "Structure" and functions.

In this article, I will try to describe the cognitive processes that occur at every moment in the life of any living being, conditionally dividing them into three generally accepted "layers": conscious, subconscious and unconscious. And also about the general structure of psychosomatics and the effectiveness of correctional work at each of the levels. Consciousness is a process of thinking that includes logic, criticism, analysis, and rational thinking. In other words, these are the processes by which any incoming information is filtered, analyzed and systematized. Consciousness is something that is very easy to verbalize, that is, to express in words. On a conscious level, a person can easily lie to other people as well as to himself.

The subconscious mind is a set of conditioned reflexes, deep beliefs, habits, automatisms that determine stable personality traits, namely character, temperament, predisposition to a particular type of activity, type of reaction to certain circumstances and situations.

The subconscious mind is a kind of "map" with which an individual describes reality for himself - the "territory". In Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), there are presuppositions (axioms) - "A map is not equal to a territory" and "A map is not equal to a map", which indicate that the prism through which each person perceives the surrounding reality does not reflect it objectively, but reflects only how this reality is perceived by this particular the subject, based on the content of his subconscious. The subconscious mind is the very layer of the psyche that influences both the conscious and the unconscious. All subconscious reactions are reflected in various bodily sensations. An example of how conscious and unconscious processes differ is the following situation: "A person learns to drive a car. In the beginning, he consciously switches gears and signals and pays enough attention to each of these actions. Subsequently, he gains driving experience and begins to act "automatically", without even thinking about what needs to be done, that is, his body performs the necessary action by itself. This means that these actions have moved from the layer of consciousness to the subconscious layer and he has developed the automatism to commit them." There are two ways information gets into the subconscious: learning and suggestion (including autosuggestion). Learning is a process of repetition that forms a neural connection that determines the development of a conditioned reflex based on the "stimulusresponse" principle. As in our driving example. Suggestion is the process of introducing information into the subconscious mind, bypassing the critical factor of consciousness. Suggestion and autosuggestion are possible in cases where the critical factor is reduced (shock, a state of trust in an "authoritative" source, hypnotic suggestion, etc.). For example, a young man wanted to meet a girl, but she laughed at him, or reacted in some other way, which led him into a high degree of embarrassment. At that moment, he experienced an emotional outburst, which reduced the critical factor and concluded (read autosuggestion) that getting to know girls is very unpleasant. At the same time, he made a logical mistake in the form of generalization. But autosuggestion "flew" into the subconscious layer. In the future, he will "automatically" experience unpleasant sensations even from the thought of meeting girls, and any attempts to logically justify the "safety" of this process will not yield any result, since the subconscious mind is a more "significant for survival" layer and takes precedence over consciousness. That is, often the subconscious mind contains attitudes that contain logical errors and contradict objective reality. The unconscious is a process that takes place in the body against the will of the subject. These include blood circulation, metabolism, palpitations, sweating, and others. The launch of these processes is due to the "survival necessity", which consists in the fact that experiencing a certain feeling or emotion, the subject must react to it physically (attack / escape / freeze / shrink / cause vomiting / sneezing / diarrhea / salivation / release of digestive enzymes, etc.). Thus, the unconscious is a state of the body that is directly dependent on subconscious reactions to the world around it. If you experience feelings and emotions, but do not realize them, there are "overstrain" in the psyche and in the body, which causes psychosomatic disorders. However, often the reaction that is "requested" can be immoral/antisocial, and often criminally punishable. After all, it is impossible in society to beat everyone you want to beat, to have sexual intercourse with everyone who causes sexual arousal, to run away every time you feel fear, etc. In order to avoid psychological problems and psychosomatic illnesses, it is necessary to change the subconscious "content" that causes one or another type of reaction in certain situations. In order to change the contents of the subconscious, the same ones are used - learning and suggestion. Learning is a longer process, suggestion is faster. However, the most important role in effective correction is the diagnosis of the true problem. Because the logic of the subconscious is very illogical. For example, I'll give you a recent case of working with a phobia:

Given is the fear of cops. What can they do to you? They'll plant drugs! And then what will happen? I'm going to jail! What's the scariest thing about this fact? My wife and children will be in danger, and I won't be able to help in any way! Imagine that all this has already happened! How do you feel? Abreaction. A memory of how, at the age of 4, I couldn't do anything when my drunk father beat my mother. Accordingly, there was no point in working with the police. The key point is the feeling of helplessness and the conclusions that were drawn at the age of 4 and have become part of the subconscious. And when I watched a video on YouTube about how the police planted drugs on someone, this feeling was activated.
